Happy B-day Daddy!

We all had a blast celebrating Sean's birthday on Sunday.

The boys had fun making daddy's favorite...

Ice cream cake!

We then headed out for a fun-filled day for all the boys at a local in-door sports center.

Here's Daddy taking a few swings in the batting cages.

Owen scored big in skee-ball.

Luke also had a great time pitching those hard balls.

But the highlight for all three was air-hockey. Luke pretended to be the Miami Hockey goalie, of course.

Owen getting ready for the puck.

After our afternoon of fun, we headed over to a seafood restaurant. Here are the boys enjoying some oysters, like father like sons. (They only pretended to eat these. Sean polished off the full dozen all by himself.)

They finished the day by blowing out the candles and digging into the cake. Happy birthday Sean!

Great Days at the Ballpark...

We recently went to Miami University Day at the Cincinnati Red's game. The weather was bad, but the boys had a great time.

Here's Luke & Owen posing for a pic with Mr. Redlegs. Luke kept calling him Mr. Met, but we told him he's Mr. Met's cousin.

Here's the great Ken Griffey, Jr., who had the game winning RBI in the 11th inning.

Owen posing with Barry Larkin and company.

Luke also took some time to pose with Chris Sabo (sans his Rec Specs) & company.

This past weekend, dad and the boys took in an Erie Seawolves game.

They got the opportunity to meet C. Wolf, the Erie Seawolves mascot (& according to Wikipedia, the only baseball mascot that talks) and the Seawolves beat the Altoona Curve!

(Editor's note: Unfortunately, due to the bad weather, dad decided to put the camera back in the car after the 3rd inning. Therefore, he missed some great snapshot opportunities as the boys got to sing "Take Me Out to the Ballgame" and dance on the dugout during the 7th inning stretch, and he also missed the boys having a blast running around the bases after the game. Oh, well. We'll get 'em next time)

Saturday @ the Goggin Ice Arena

Last weekend we had a great time ice skating with the boys.

Dad and the boys pose for a quick pic as soon as they hit the ice.

Luke really had a blast...

as did Owen. Here he is practicing taking face-offs against dad.

The boys also spent some time skating around the rink together.

Not to be outdone, Mom wanted to hit the ice as well...

and did she ever hit the ice! (Actually, this picture was staged. Amy did not really skate. Happy belated April Fool's Day!)

Mom did stay on the ice just long enough for a family pic.

Happy Easter!

Much to the boys' delight the Easter Bunny did make a stop in Oxford this year. To answer a question from Gramma and Shell, "Just where does the Easter Bunny come from?" Sources point to the desire of early Christians to intigrate Pagan traditions into Christian festivals. In second century Europe, the predominate spring festival was a raucous Saxon fertility celebration in honor of the Saxon goddess Eastre (Ostara), whose sacred animal was a hare.

Here are the boys coloring their fertility symbols in honor of their soon to be baby brother or sister :)

Wanting to ensure that everyone at Church knew that they colored eggs, they dyed their hands as well.

Here are the boys the next morning diving into the spoils of their hare-hidden baskets.

They also took in a little protein by eating a colored egg.

And here are the two gentlemen in their Easter finest.

Springtime in Oxford...

We recently had a little bit of snow here in Oxford.

Here are the boys before they held-up the local gas station.

Here they are making their getaway.

The had a blast playing in the snow.

The next day we went sled riding at a local park.

Owen & Luke were adventurous. They had to try every sled available. Here they are after one of their numerous wipe-outs.

Owen loved flying down the hill as fast as he could.

Luke was a bit more cautious.

Dad wasn't going to let the opportunity pass him by...

he made sure he went down the hill with both his boys.

Here's dad, Luke, and Owen with our friends Katie, Angie & lil' Luke.

Here are the boys in their St. Patrick's Day gear.

I saved the best for last. Here's Mom and baby C enjoying the great outdoors.
